As an organization, Pacific Service Credit Union prides itself on supporting the communities we serve, especially in times of crisis. To date, we have provided over $60,000 in COVID-related funding to local organizations that provide food, shelter, and relief to their communities.
Funding was provided to the Food Banks of Contra Costa and Solano, Central California, and Alameda, as well as the Red Cross, the Monument Crisis Center, Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa, Opportunity Junction, White Pony Express, and Youth Homes to help assist the increased need for assistance during the pandemic.
We also partnered with local businesses to find additional ways to foster community giving. The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco matched a $5,000 donation to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. We also collaborated with KOIT, a local radio station, by sponsoring a radio-a-thon which raised money for local food banks through public donations and a company match.
If you are involved in a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that would like to apply for community involvement funding, please email your request for an application and our funding guidelines.
Learn more about the organizations we support and how you can make a donation or volunteer:
Our donation has enabled the Alameda County Community Food Bank to purchase $35,000 worth of food for its emergency food bag distribution.
The Central California Food Bank will use our donation to help provide food and resources to the underserved who have lost access to vital distribution sites in Central California.
Our donation helped provide emergency food boxes to families who are out of work due to the mandatory shelter in place order.
Loaves and Fishes serves approximately 1,200 clients per month through four dining rooms. Our donation has supported increased expenses for food and to-go containers related to the challenges required to distribute food in the current shelter in place environment.
With the donation this critical family resource center has provided emergency food distribution to the residents of Concord and surrounding cities. The Monument Crisis Center has provided fresh produce and groceries to anyone in need on a weekly basis.
Opportunity Junction offers job training and placement to help motivated, low-income job seekers gain skills to launch administrative careers. Our donation will help fund three months of full-time training for approximately 54 students.
Our donation has provided COVID-19 disaster relief assistance in California.
Due to COVID-19, the need for food distribution has tripled. White Pony Express provides fresh, healthy food at no cost to non-profit agencies throughout Contra Costa County. Our donation will specifically help support efforts to serve the students and families from 11 low-income school pantries. They have developed drive-thru distribution sites at community centers and churches, where families may drive through to pick up groceries.
Our donation will enable Youth Homes to prioritize the safety and health of staff and the youth that they serve while maintaining therapeutic and program continuity. Our donation will purchase HIPAA compliant video conferencing technology that will allow therapeutic sessions to continue.
